Held bi-annually, Ariel Property Advisors’ Coffee & Cap Rates event has grown into a highly popular industry event. Nearly 200 professionals attended the networking breakfast on July 26, which was exclusively sponsored by AmTrust Title and featured a panel of some of New York City's most influential real estate executives. All proceeds were matched by Ariel Property Advisors and donated to Legal Outreach, a nonprofit that helps young people from underserved NYC communities gain admission to the country’s most competitive colleges and universities.

Following a brief presentation of our latest research and insights by event host Shimon Shkury, President of Ariel Property Advisors, Michael Stoler, President of New York Real Estate TV, LLC and host of The Stoler Report, will moderate a panel discussion titled "Challenges & Opportunities in Today's Market"
Ariel Property Advisors presents Coffee & Cap Rates℠ semi-annually to share the latest trends in the investment sales market with clients and contacts. More than 300 real estate professionals attended the previous Coffee & Cap Rates℠ event.
Club 101 is located on Park Avenue between East 40th and 41st Streets, just south of Grand Central Terminal. The club enjoys close proximity to the Metro North Rail Road and the 4, 5, 6, 7, and Shuttle subway lines at Grand Central.
The $72 registration fee will be donated to Legal Outreach, a nonprofit that prepares urban youth from underserved communities in New York City to compete at high academic levels.

Shimon Shkury is the founder and President of Ariel Property Advisors, a New York City investment property sales firm with an expertise in the multifamily asset class and development sites. In this role, he oversees all investment sales and research operations for the company. Since 2002, Mr. Shkury has advised private clients, institutions, operators, equity providers and lenders on pricing, positioning and selling assets throughout New York City.
Michael Stoler is President of New York Real Estate TV, LLC a management consulting firm and television production firm.
Mr. Stoler is the host and executive producer of “The Stoler Report-New York’s Business Report”, now in its 17th season. He is also the host of “Building New York-New York Life Stories”, which is celebrated its twelfth season. Both broadcasts are produced and distributed by CUNY TV, owned and operated by the City University of New York. These shows air on more than twenty four university, educational, community and public access television stations in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
Mr. Stoler also served from January 2009 through March 31, 2018 as a Managing Director, at Madison Realty Capital, a private equity firm, specializing in real estate financing and development.
He previously served as a senior principal at ApolloReal Estate Advisors (AREA Property Partners) as well as SVP with First American Title Insurance Company. For more than twenty five years he served as president and CEO of Princeton Commercial Corporation and New York Real Estate TV, LLC, a consulting and financing firms whose client have included financial institutions, public and private companies, commercial banks and finance companies, accounting and consulting firms, Taft Hartley Unions and Health Funds, healthcare organizations, healthcare and business professionals.
Eli is a Principal and serves as the Director of Development for Joy Construction Corp since joining in 2008. In that role, he runs the development and finance platform for Joy Construction which has been an active builder in New York City since 1995. He is primarily involved in executing the development process as well the underwriting and closing of debt and equity financing for acquisitions and construction loan transactions with both public and private sector financial institutions. Additionally, he oversees and coordinates acquisitions and development joint ventures for Joy Construction.
Eli graduated from Yeshiva University with a B.S. in Finance and from New York University with an M.S. in Real Estate Development. He also received his J.D. from Seton Hall School of Law where he wrote his thesis for current United States Supreme Court Justice Samuel A. Alito. Eli is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and served as an associate adjunct instructor at NYU where he taught a graduate level course on real estate finance and affordable housing.
Susi Yu is a Managing Director and the Head of Development at L&L MAG, responsible for overseeing and executing the company’s development investment strategy.
Previously, Susi served as Executive Vice President of Development for Forest City Ratner Companies, leading the Residential Development team on execution of Pacific Park Brooklyn, the $4.9 billion, 22-acre mixed-use development in the heart of Brooklyn. At Forest City, Susi also oversaw the development of large scale, mixed-use urban projects including New York by Gehry, a 900-unit residential building designed by Frank Gehry. Susi started at Forest City in 2001 and has worked there since with the exception of a 20-month stint from 2013-2015 with the Howard Hughes Corporation as Senior Vice President of Development.
Trained as an architect at the University of Virginia’s School of Architecture, Susi previously worked for 10 years in that field, most recently as a Project Architect for Robert A.M. Stern. She is a graduate of Columbia University’s Masters of Science in Real Estate Development Program and is a registered architect in New York State. Susi emigrated from Seoul, Korea to Richmond, Virginia at the age of 10.
Susi serves on an advisory board of the Goldman Family, is a director of Apple Bank and sits on YMCA’s Real Estate Committee.
Paulo C. Garcia is a Senior Vice President and Commercial Real Estate Manager with Mercantil Bank in NY. In this role he oversees origination and asset management for a $1 billion loan portfolio across all major property types in the NY Metro area. Paulo joined Mercantil Bank in 2003. Before that Paulo was at Bank of America for approximately 3-years where he completed credit training and worked as an underwriter in the Real Estate Group. Paulo is a graduate of the NYU Shack Real Estate Institute where he earned his Master degree in Real Estate Finance. Paulo resides in Fort Greene, Brooklyn with his wife and two children.
Sorabh Maheshwari is a founding partner of Churchill Real Estate Holdings. Prior to Churchill, Sorabh was a principal at Onex Real Estate, a multi-billion dollar private equity firm located in New York. There, he had complete responsibility for acquisitions, dispositions, and asset management of the Onex rent-regulated housing portfolio starting in 2010. Sorabh ran the Onex Real Estate High Yield Debt Fund, which invested in distressed debt opportunities and was one of Onex Real Estate’s top performing investment vehicles. He has been involved in over $500 million of transactions in the New York multifamily sector including equity investments, recapitalization, and distressed debt purchases. Before joining Onex, he worked as an investment banker at Credit Suisse and DLJ in the real estate investment banking group.
Sorabh completed his undergraduate education at the University of Maryland where he graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Finance. He received an MBA from Columbia Business School and an MBA from London Business School.
