About 100 New York City real estate professionals joined Ariel Property Advisors at its first-ever “Brooklyn New” event at the Brooklyn Public Library on November 14. The networking breakfast and panel discussion, which was jointly sponsored by Cozen O'Connor, featured a panel of some of Brooklyn’s most influential real estate executives. All ticket proceeds from the event were donated to the Brooklyn Public Library.

The Brooklyn Public Library's Central Branch is located between Flatbush Avenue and Eastern Parkway on Grand Army Plaza. The central location provides immense transportation options with access to the 2 and 3 subway lines at Grand Army Plaza Station and Eastern Parkway Brooklyn Museum Station, as well as, the B and Q subway lines at 7th Avenue Station.

Sean R. Kelly, Esq. is a Senior Director - Investment Sales at Ariel Property Advisors. In addition to originating and
executing exclusive listing sales, he is responsible for leading business development and networking initiatives in
Brooklyn, with a particular focus on Downtown Brooklyn, Dumbo, Brooklyn Heights, Boerum Hill, Vinegar Hill, Fort Greene,
Clinton Hill, and Williamsburg.
Prior to joining Ariel Property Advisors, Mr. Kelly served as a Managing Director at CPEX Real Estate, where he led a
team of dedicated sales professionals in selling and ground leasing development and conversion sites. In this role, Mr.
Kelly managed all projects within his business line by maintaining client relationships, developing custom marketing
campaigns, and leading the negotiation process.
Since entering the New York City market, Mr. Kelly has successfully brokered more than 100 transactions, consisting of
more than 4.5 million square feet, with an aggregate value of over $600 million. His accomplishments earned him
recognition as a CoStar “Power Broker,” and the Home Reporter and Brooklyn Spectator both named him a “Rising Star.”
Mr. Kelly is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey. His professional affiliations and licenses include the

Building Industry Association of New York City, Inc.
In addition to being a board member at The Dr. Theodore A. Atlas Foundation, Mr. Kelly is a member of the Our Lady of
Good Counsel Parish in Staten Island, as well as the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce.
He received his Juris Doctorate from Saint John’s University School of Law, and his Bachelors of Science in Finance and
Small Business Entrepreneurship from the University of South Carolina. He also worked as a journey-man Ironworker on 4
Times Square, 383 Madison Avenue, and several of the New York City bridges.

Ken’s practice concentrates on the public realm of the metropolitan area. His experience includes real
estate
development, zoning and land use, administrative and regulatory law, government contracting, litigation, and
investigations.
Ken advocates for clients with government decision makers at the local, state, and federal levels. The
Observer named
him one of "The Lawyers You Call" and City Hall News as one of "10 People Who Can Help Get a Project
Built-Or Help Stop
One." The Real Deal notes that Ken "has emerged as a go-to guy for real estate clients embroiled in
contentious

Ken served as a member of the New York City Council from 1991-2001 (D-Brooklyn). He also served as founding
chair of the
New York City Chapter of the New York League of Conservation Voters and was founding chair of the board of
directors of
the Governors Island Alliance. Ken is a fellow of the Urban Design Forum. In 2018, he was elected to a two-year term on
board of directors
of the
Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.
Ken is chair of the Brooklyn Bar Association Committee on Government and Public Sector. He previously served
as a member
and chair of the New York City Bar Association Land Use Planning & Zoning Committee and Insurance Law
Committee and was
a member of the Judiciary Committee. He served two terms in the New York State Bar Association House of
Delegates and
co-chaired its Special Committee on Medical Information. He was previously secretary and law committee chair
of the
Brooklyn Democratic Party and served as a delegate to the 1996 Democratic National Convention.
Ken earned his undergraduate degree from the University of the Pacific and his law degree from Syracuse
University.
Purnima Kapur is a Planning Consultant and an Urbanist with over 25 years of experience in City building. She is also an
Adjunct Professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Planning and Architecture. Ms. Kapur serves as a Director
on the Board of Trustees of the Hudson River Park Trust and the Skyscraper Museum. She also serves on the Board of
Advisors of Columbia University’s Center for Buildings Infrastructure and Public Space (CBIPS).
She was until recently, the Executive Director of the New York City Department of City Planning (DCP), where she oversaw
the agency’s five Borough Offices as well as the Central Planning divisions. Ms. Kapur is one of the key architects of
New York City’s groundbreaking Mandatory Inclusionary Housing regulation. Under her leadership, the City adopted five
Integrated Neighborhood Plans in four boroughs, as well as an innovative plan for the redevelopment of Greater East
Midtown.
Ms. Kapur has been a key player in the redevelopment and transformation of Brooklyn over the past two decades. Under
Mayor Bloomberg, she served as Director of DCP’s Brooklyn Borough Office from 2006-2014, a period of unprecedented
growth and redevelopment. While in that role, she led high-priority and transformative projects, including the
development of Greenpoint-Williamsburg waterfront, Downtown Brooklyn and Coney Island among other neighborhoods. In her
role as Director of DCP’s Bronx Office from 2001-2006, she led the largest rezoning agenda in the borough’s history
touching almost every neighborhood in the borough, from Yankee Stadium and Port Morris to Riverdale, Throggs Neck and
City Island.
Ms. Kapur is trained as an architect and a city planner, with dual Masters degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology.
Alison oversees mixed-income and market-rate developments as well as Hudson’s middle income equity fund. Under her leadership, Hudson launched its commitment to green building. Alison has overseen the acquisition, design, financing, construction, and completion of a wide range of housing developments ranging from affordable (Ocean View Villas) to high-end (House No 94), home ownership (Third + Bond) to rental (The Clark), single-family (Ocean View Villas) to high rise (The Parkline). Her goal is to ensure Hudson’s diverse team maintains the highest integrity and commitment to its guiding principles. Alison holds her Bachelor of Arts from Grinnell College and her Master of City Planning and Master of Science in Real Estate Development, both from M.I.T; she’s a member of the 21st cohort of Coro Leadership New York and sits on the board of The Osborne Association.
Aaron Malitzky is a Vice President at DH Property Holdings. Aaron joined DHPH at its founding in November 2016 as a Senior Associate. Since its founding DHPH has acquired over $500 Million of properties throughout the New York City and is currently developing over 2 million square feet of Class A industrial assets in Brooklyn including the first multi-story industrial building on the East Coast. Prior to joining DH Property Holdings, Aaron worked at Meadow Partners, a private equity real estate firm in New York City. During his time at Meadow, Aaron personally oversaw the asset management and development of over $1 Billion of Real Estate in New York City including 1.5 million square feet and close to 1,000 units. Prior to joining Meadow Partners, Aaron worked at Newmark Knight Frank in its construction management group. Aaron holds a Masters in Real Estate Finance from New York University and a Bachelors of Arts from Yeshiva University. Aaron was recently featured in Crain’s inaugural feature on the Rising Stars in Commercial Real Estate and in Globe Street’s Industrial Influencers of 2019.
