NEW YORK, NY – March 9, 2011 – Jonathan Berman has joined Ariel Properties Advisors as a vice president for investment sales with responsibility for multifamily and development properties in Brooklyn, Shimon Shkury, president, has announced.
Previously, Mr. Berman was with the Brooklyn office of Massey Knakal Realty Services for six years. His success at Massey Knakal resulted in a number of professional awards for business development.
“We’re delighted that Jonathan has joined Ariel Property Advisors and will be strengthening our growing investment sales operation in Brooklyn,” Mr. Shkury said. “We have worked closely with Jonathan for several years and have collaborated with him on a number of deals.”
Mr. Berman has sold more than 70 properties of various types in Brooklyn including multifamily, industrial, mixed-use, office, and many development sites. Notable transactions in Brooklyn include the sale of 166-170 Brooklyn Avenue, 864 Nostrand Avenue, 803 Nostrand Avenue, 740 Hegeman Avenue, and 1952 E. 8th Street.

Prior to embarking on a career in commercial real estate, Mr. Berman held a number of positions at hardware and software firms serving the aeronautical industry.
Mr. Berman served in the Israeli military where he won a commendation for excellence. He earned his undergraduate degree from Baruch College in NY and his MBA from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
