NEW YORK, NY – July 9, 2024 – Ariel Property Advisors presented its ninth annual internship program for The Chapin School, an all-girls independent day school located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

Michael A. Tortorici, Founding Partner, spearheaded the initiative, and Rachel Courtney, Operations Manager, coordinated the program along with Founding Partner Ivan Petrovic and participation from professionals in the Investment Sales, Capital Services and Research Groups.
Six select students from The Chapin School participated in the four-day, highly intensive and educational commercial real estate course. The program introduced the interns to the New York City commercial real estate market and a diverse array of topics including regulations and rent laws, pricing metrics, investment strategies and marketing campaigns.
“The goal of the internship program is to expose the participants to New York City’s complex commercial real estate industry and hopefully spark some interest in future real estate careers,” Tortorici said. “At the conclusion of the week, the interns did a terrific job sharing their knowledge by presenting an investment opportunity to Ariel’s partners and volunteers.”
One of the highlights of this year’s program was a panel featuring accomplished women in the real estate industry. Mr. Tortorici hosted a luncheon for the interns and panelists Attorney Ashley Doukas, chair of the Land Use Practice at Adler & Stachenfeld, Ellen Kackman, Senior Vice President, Affordable and Workforce Housing for The Albanese Organization, and Ariel representatives, Gail Donovan, Senior Director of Communications, and Ms. Courtney, who spoke about their career paths, responsibilities in their current roles and experience as women in the real estate industry.
The following members of the Ariel team volunteered with Ms. Courtney: Alix Curtin, Associate Director in Investment Sales, Rhea Vivek, Associate in Capital Services, Dusan Racic, Analyst in the Research Group, and Erik Moloney, Associate in Investment Sales, gave presentations about their areas of expertise. Associates Karynne Campbell and Paul Monaco served as team advisors for the intern’s presentations.
