NEW YORK, NY – August 7, 2023 – Ariel Property Advisors and Legal Outreach presented their eighth annual commercial real estate internship program for high school students at Ariel’s Midtown office July 17-20.

This year, six students worked with Ariel’s Investment Sales, Capital Services and Research departments to gain exposure to many facets of the commercial real estate industry specifically related to the New York City market. The four-day immersive program covered the variety of real estate assets, methods for evaluating properties and how the governmental regulatory system influences private and public policy in the market.

James B. O’Neal, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Legal Outreach, which is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year, shared his gratitude for the internship program at Ariel’s recent Coffee & Cap Rates event. “There’s no great nonprofit organization that is able to do meaningful work without partners and we count Ariel Property Advisors as one of our biggest supporters, one of our biggest partners not just in terms of making financial contributions to the organization but by providing opportunities for our young people to be exposed to the world of real estate.These are the types of internships and professional exposure programs that motivate our students so that they are ready to pursue education at the highest level.”

Tamika Edwards, Managing Director for Legal Outreach, thanked Shimon Shkury, President and Founder of Ariel Property Advisors, for working to enhance Legal Outreach’s programs and the lives of the students. “We know that we have a program that works, we have a good structure that is proven but our students are only successful because we have partners, we have people, we have organizations and companies that are willing to give their time, willing to give their knowledge and share their expertise with our students,” she said.

Melissa Lopez, Human Resources Operations Manager for Ariel Property Advisors, coordinated this year’s internship program and praised the students who participated. “Throughout their time with us, the interns from Legal Outreach showcased exceptional qualities such as unwavering enthusiasm, inquisitiveness, and diverse thinking, leaving a profound impact on everyone involved. At Ariel Property Advisors, we strongly believe in nurturing and supporting the next generation of talent, and we take pride in creating an environment where these gifted young minds can flourish, learn, and develop.”

In addition to Ms. Lopez, the following members of the Ariel team gave presentations to the students: Nicole Daniggelis, Associate Director in Investment Sales, Rhea Vivek, Associate in Capital Services, Anthony Priest, Analyst in the Research Group, and Dusan Racic, Analyst in the Research Group.

Ariel donates all proceeds from its bi-annual Coffee & Cap Rates events to Legal Outreach and offers the internship program annually, both of which are reflective of Ariel Property Advisors’ commitment to giving back to the community. Ariel is deeply dedicated to community outreach, donating time to causes such as the UJA Federation and HELP USA. The firm also contributes annually to the Inner-City Scholarship Fund, a nonprofit that provides families in need with the financial means to give their children a K-12 Catholic education within the Archdiocese of New York.
