Over 250 NYC real estate professionals attended this live networking breakfast held at TD Bank’s conference center at One Vanderbilt across from Grand Central Terminal. The theme of the latest Coffee and Cap Rates event was “Investing Through Change” and featured a panel of industry professionals sharing their unique perspectives on New York City’s commercial real estate investment and development markets.

Shimon Shkury, President and Founder of Ariel Property Advisors, kicked off the event with an overview of New York City’s investment sales market as well as key findings from the firm’s recently completed mid-year research reports.

The panel was moderated by Ralph Bumbaca, Regional President, Metro NY - TD Bank and featured Justin Pelsinger, Chief Operating Officer, Charney Companies; Tom Ortinau, Head of Acquisitions, GFP Real Estate; Meredith Marshall, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, BRP Companies; and Jesse Hutcher, Managing Partner and CIO, Derby Copeland Capital, who provided their take on the state of New York City commercial real estate.

As with previous Coffee & Cap Rates, Ariel will be donating all proceeds to Legal Outreach, a nonprofit that helps young people from underserved New York communities gain admission to the country’s most competitive colleges and universities. Tamika Edwards, Executive Director of Legal Outreach, provided guests with an overview of the program, and introduced one of the students interning for the week at Ariel Property Advisors, who shared how businesses can get involved.

The Coffee & Cap Rates series is a semi-annual program, and the next event will take place in February 2026.
